    Forest/Everton points deduction

Posted by Ummmmm on 16/3/2024, 12:29:57

Most of the 'in-the-know' journalists assume a 6 point deduction for both. Don't think that will make our job any easier to stay up.

Let's be very clear here, it is not difficult.

If a team above us and within relative reach has points taken away, even one, it does make it easier for us to stay up.

Think we will find out about Notts on Monday, at least six points seems nailed on. And last time I looked at the table if they had six points less than they do now we would be above them.

2 points only I’m afraid. Rules were broken over a 3 year period to June 2023. 2 of those 3 years Forest were in a different competition and will argue the premier league can’t punish them for.

So they’ll only get punished for 1 year out of the 3 - hence 2 points.

This will be on condition they don’t appeal so it’s all sorted by end of season.

          You heard it here first.

I’ve said it before and il say it again. It is as clear as day that the mental forest owner just ignored the rules and did what the fcuk he pleased. Even when charged he carried on with that shambolic Abbey signing from reading (to our clear detriment) and the multi million pound signing of goalkeeper number 5. The Brennan johnson excuse is absolute bullish!t.

In what other sport can you blatantly and wilfully cheat and then negotiate the sanction? It’s like lance Armstrong negotiating a 6 minute penalty and getting to keep half his Tour de France titles imo.

no guarantee it will be sorted by the end of the season

So Forest having six fewer points than they have now won’t make it any easier to finish above them?

I’m sorry but that is the most illogical statement I’ve seen on here recently (and boy there is a lot of competition). I believe both will get less

...it would make it easier. That's how I understand the table would work anyway.

I think what the poster is suggesting is that we are seeking a 12-15 deduction to be more confident.

And that isn’t forgetting that the two clubs below us are quite capable of picking up more points than us in the last ten games.
