    Lockyer, Burke, Osho or Mengi

Who do you think is the best player?

      Mengi has the highest ceiling.

Burke is currently the best defender (but is made of glass - the irony of him not being one of the currently injured!)

Lockyer is a level down from Mengi and Burke but excels at more "intangibles" like leadership

Osho is probably at the same level as Lockyer (maybe slightly better as a pure defender) but would be my backup if all were fit.

Mengi the best for me. But I do agree we miss Lockyer's leadership skills - if we still had him we would probably not be in the bottom 3 now.

One of those impossible to answer ones really, a better question might be if only 3 of our cbs could be guaranteed fit for the rest of the season which three would you choose (and in order) Locks, Burke and Mengi for me! We are really Lockyer, not necessarily because he’s the best player but because he is a leader and an organiser who gets the best out of those around him

Lockyer hasn’t got the pace to play one-on-one against PL strikers, so our tactics would need to be different.

He's ok as the central of 3. Can't quite recall the sequence of when Lokonga came back vs. Bournemouth (a) first time, but I reckon if we had a midfield of Barkley and Lokonga with three CBs including Lockyer behind, we would not be conceding anything like the number of goals we are at the moment.

Burke in terms of ability on the ball, but he has always got the vulnerability to suffering a stretch injury. Lockyer, before his heart issues, was far more reliable in terms of staying injury free. Certainly not Osho. So that just leaves Mengi. So it's between Mengi and Burke. Burke has more ability, but Mengi will probably give you more games over a season.
