Great first half performance. I thought Chong and Kabore had their best games for us and the threat of Ogbene and Kabore down the same side with their pace was a massive problem for Bournemouth, as it was for Villa the other week.
We were a bit deep but defended well and as a unit.

Second half was the exact opposite. Bournemouth were always going to come out and have a go, but instead of keeping it tight for 20 mins and killing the game, the wing backs, whether by design (in which case Edwards is an idiot, and I don't think he is) or because Doughty especially thought he'd just play LW, were high up the pitch and left our defence exposed.
I think we all know Barkley and Clark as a midfield two isn't exactly a ball winning midfield and a smart sub would've been to bring on someone (Berry or Pelly probably) after Bournemouths first just to given them some help. To concede 3 goals in 20 mins is an embarrassment and we shave to learn how to control a game from that situation better. Bournemouth at 4-3 were just doing little things like walking off with the ball etc. we don't do that, we need to get an edge.

It puts massive pressure on the Forest game now. Lose and we're 6 points behind and even with a points deduction we're not making that up.

As I said earlier, I think Hashi looks a decent player, but not at cb for a full game. Needs must at the minute I know.

It made a nice change not to go 2 or 3 down and attempt a comeback I suppose but the frustrating thing is we're throwing points away every game because of silly avoidable mistakes.

Still, onwards to Forest. I'll be in the Wheelies from 1 all being well

The only thoughts I have are what did Edwards say at half time.

He wouldn't have said go out and concede 4 goals would he. He can't legislate for Hashi not being more determined on Solanke for the first or Hashi not closing down for the third. He didn't tell our defence not to win the header at the corner for their second. The warnings were there in the first half, Bournemouth looked a threat all game. There was only one winner after Bournemouth scored their first.
Some of our starting eleven won't be consistently good enough week in week out. We knew that in August, some posters need a reality check and remember how far we have come in a short time, better teams than us have been relegated and anyone who thought we wouldn't be in a relegation battle is deluded.

Good thoughts. I have something to say about Barkley... He should have gone off half time.. He is not a player for defending a lead like that
