Use someone like DHL they will sort shipping and clearance and give you a price

Recently used this website to send a parcel, much smaller than a guitar, to Finland but might still help with getting the best quote. Probably only useful if buying the guitar from a private individual rather than a business though.

You would have to pay VAT at least which is 20% of the combined cost of the guitar and shipping. It's possible there are import duties as well, although it might be zero - you would have to check that.

Is it just a case of checking with the supplier in Germany or would I have to contact customs duties

Looking for a new guitar myself, and due to the 'uncertainties' regarding duties/tax I decided to stick with UK only.

Quite possibly if you contact the shop/outlet where you're considering buying from, they may give you guidance and a possible quote including extra costs . . . obviously a private seller would be different.

Cheers mate that's really good of you but the guitar I am after is from an actual guitar shop but it is there eBay shop so I have messaged them just have to wait till they get back to me I suppose the only reason I want to get it is because the guitar is now a discontinued one and they only have one left

Discontinued for a reason.... ie not selling/popular ?
Think you are better buying from somewhere you can try the guitar.

...you can never have too many guitars. Always scouring for a bargain on the eBay (and charity shops) myself... great way to decorate a room!

The chase for an elusive guitar . . . you do realize that when you get it, another 2 will come on sale nearer to you

Best wishes for a successful purchase

Cheers mate much appreciated I think it's up for about 750 pound on their eBay shop so I would imagine I will have to pay another 20% plus I think it's £20 shipping cost so probably not going to be worth doing it's such a shame as it's the color I want and you can't get it anywhere fender of stopped actually selling that one now

I play, and have imported quite a few guitars. I recently bought a guitar from China which got through customs without any chargers. It cost me around £500 so i was surprised.
