Few independent shops. Hardly any aspirational shopping left in the town either.

Apart from not being in danger of being run over when stepping into the road to avoid people standing looking into shop windows, how is it any different?

From Cheapside/Chapel Street towards the Town Hall, most of the buildings haven't changed, and obviously George Street is now pedestrianised, which, as I said, has reduced the chances of being run over.
And those disgusting toilets are no longer there on Market Hill behind the camera, which is a plus.

Try not be such a doom-and-gloom merchant.

Sadly, it’s in the interests of LBC for Luton to be seen to be a poor town. The powers that be maintain this. It’s why the funding flows & flows. Being crap keeps them in jobs.

This is from a source who works there.

More importantly, is that a Victor and an Anglia driving up George St? Can't make out any of the others.

I would say that the Ford is either a Prefect or Popular. The vehicle in front of the buses is possibly an Austin A55.

Wasn't the Midland, now HSBC always on the opposite side? I opened an account at the Midland in 1961 and don't remember it there.
