A lot a clamour for Ross to get an England call up. Whilst it would be greatly deserved for Ross and great recognition for the club selfishly I hope Southgate sticks with his favourites. Ross is so important to our chances I'd rather he had a 2 week break rather than going away with England.

I will genuinely be amazed if Barkley gets called up for England as good as he's been for us. I will be so annoyed if he picks Henderson. But there are so many others ahead of Barkley in the queue.

Don't worry he's nowhere near the squad. Southgate will select someone younger but with potential if there's a spare place.

Southgate will stick with his favourites. Fully expect he will take Henderson and Kalvin Phillips in the deeper role.
Shame, could you imagine Barkley in that role alongside Rice. His distribution to the likes of Kane, Bellingham, Saka and Foden will be a level above anything that Henderson or Phillips can deliver.
Southgate will never make it happen though as he'll be more worried about Barkley taking the occasional risk than what he could deliver offensively.

Personally, I think Phillips is hugely overrated. Dined out on a decent performance against Croatia and contributed very little since.
Half a decent performance for West Ham though and he'll be straight back in.
