After a first taste of English football in the FA Cup against Manchester City, he got his first experience of Premier League action when coming on early in the second period. Surprisingly introduced in the left centre half role, but it worked a treat, allowing Doughty to move out to his wingback role, as Luton instantly looked more of a cohesive unit once more. Helped keep the previously dominant Villa attackers quiet, as his versatility and undoubted defensive ability could be a real factor during the run-in.

This was explained a day or two ago.
We are not allowed to count him as defensive cover because he is primarily a wing back, even though it was clearly stated he could play across the back line.
