Moaning managers and their second goal

Posted by Hatsworth on 4/3/2024, 14:43:12

I am not suggesting that it was an incorrect decision, but I think that major manager betwetting would have gone on If their second goal had been given against Liverpool, Aston Villa themselves or Nottingham Forest (on recent form for colossal bed wetting).

The referee called Burke back to book him, then allowed Villa to take a quick freekick right into the position that the Burke would’ve been standing in had he not been called over to be booked. So whilst I think it’s a case of tough sh!t, mark clattenburg, newly appointing head of applying referee pressure at nottingham forest, would have been on the tv and radio banging on about it imo.

I think it was undoubtedly an incorrect decision myself. If you have a player over to book them you simply can't allow a quick free kick.

There were 4 defenders stood stationary when Watkins ran through, not just Burke.
        Stupidly thick defending as usual.

You absolute spastic, were the handrails too cold for you on Saturday, if you even went?

Yes they were a bit chilly now you mention it.
Maybe the 4 defenders that were stood like statues knew this and were stood feeling sorry us.

If you were the Forest gaffer you'd be spitting broken glass at the ref continuing play until Liverpool scored. Amazing how much stoppage time they get every game

I agree. Seem to remember arsenal getting the same luxury. When 4 mins went up against Man U it told me EVERYTHING I needed to know (already knew).

Doesn’t mean forest manager wouldn’t have also been spitting feathers if that booking / quick free kick thing happened to them as well.

On the topic of Liverpool. Klopp was very clear earlier in the season that when a refs decision has such a direct outcome on the result it should be replayed. Assume he’s calling for the forest game to be replayed as well?
