    Safe standing

Would like to see it in the whole enclosure and even the top section of the Kenilworth Road end. Not sure however of what percentage of the ground can be converted. Sure I read it could only be 25% max.

I sit in the part of the ground when I'm over.

Then youll appreciate why it would be very unpopular with a large number of ticket holders there.

Didn't the older generation stand back in the day when the ground was mostly terracing? The bolted on seats in the enclosure are also very uncomfortable, so you might as well stand.
Don't blame the club for trying to maximise capacity in view of the huge demand for tickets. Thinking selfishly it would also give me a chance of getting a ticket. At the moment its impossible.

You say "don't blame the club for trying to increase capacity". I don't but this is your suggestion isn't it not theirs.

The point I'd like to make is that it is not a crime to prefer to sit or to be of an age where it is uncomfortable not do so, despite what some confrontationalists on here argue.

I don't know about the top of the KR end. As far as the enclosure is concerned I doubt very much whether converting any of it in its present form to safe standing would result in increased capacity , certainly not enough to justify the cost.

In fact I suspect the reverse would be true.

The enclosure seats as you know, are different to those elsewhere. They're backless and practically benches. Vacating that side of the ground is already a nightmare.People regularly climb over and/ or walk along the enclosure seat rows to avoid other people as they try to leave the ground. Installing safe seating would put an end to that. It will become impossible. The resulting logjam to leave will be infinitely worse than now.

In fact I suspect to install safe seating the club would have to create more walkways and increase the size of the existing paths. In other words it would reduce capacity, probably significantly.

And it will still be a nightmare to get out of.
