    Atmosphere last night

Very flat I thought. Obviously, partly circumstances- a different crowd because it was a cup game and going behind early....but as a crowd we need to up our game again I think. We know what a difference it can make.

We go on about Kenilworth Road under the lights being special, but last night it wasn't. It was very ordinary. We can do a lot better than that can't we?

Because the struggle was half the fun. And we are much noisier when we’ve been in the pub for a few hours before.

Who else witnessed the farce in the Kenilworth Lower of one of the longtime season-ticket holders being yelled at for swearing because “There’s kids present”?
Fair to say there were a lot of tourists in. That and going 2-0 down so soon meant it wasn’t going to be our night in the stands as well as on the pitch.

I think sometimes we do need to give ourselves a break.

Yu can't keep it going for every game and I think from the off there was a feeling that this wasn't the one that mattered.

Don't entirely know why but it was fairly flat and then it soon became pretty obvious we were being outclassed.

Kicking the Oak Roaders out doesn’t help.

Night matches are still good for league games.

Rather disproved the theory that a few used to spout on here that the atmosphere would be so much better if we gave away teams the whole Oak Road

It wasn't a must-win game. In fact, a lot of ppl were prob mostly concerned with not picking up any injuries for rest of league campaign.

When the FA CUP meant something it would have been different.

Leant over to my son and his pal in G Block last night and half-sang "where's our famous atmosphere...?"

The worst atmosphere for a while. Night game or otherwise. This is what we need to guard against when we get to Power Court

Going 1-0 down early on against the World Champions killed it.

Also peopl are not tanked up at 8pm on a Tuesday generally like for a Sat home game.

Doesn't stop other night games being good in recent years though

Going 2 down was probably the killer but it wasn't great before that

Plenty of regulars didn't bother so alot of glory hunters got their wish and got tickets.
The PA bloke being a total bell end thinking he's at a rave pre match doesn't help get an atmosphere going either.
Then he played an oasis song at the end.

It will be worse at PC because those who do .make a bit of noise at kr will be spaced out at PC and bigger home support dont mean more noise as was proved at Wembley where I hardly hear a song sang apart from a few mumbling unlike the cov lot who sang in unison

                              Re: Atmosphere last night

People who want to stand and chant will just gather in a particular part of the ground. Doesn't have to be a problem but we shouldn't be complacent

I've heard a few people say that about Wembley. Thought the atmosphere was good and only heard Cov for 10 mins after they scored. I think Wembley creates its own buzz/noise without chants but it'd be better with them of course. I also think the tension of the day played a part. At the end it was great

Always going to be difficult to get an atmosphere when the team are getting a bit of a spanking, with, as you say, cup fans.

I thought City fans were very good. Not sure Palace will like having Glad All Over stolen, but such is the way of these things. Nice to hear some actual chants

Bollicks most seawon. Ticket holders would of claimed seat ..reason why the atmosphere was shite in home ends and loud in away is because city had double numbers than usual and northerners are always loud unlike the reserved luton lot pr whatever village they come from these days ..
