A few thoughts after last night

I thought we were tactically naive, and far too open. If fit, I would have played Osho alongside Barkley, in an attempt to stop them passing through us at will. We should have tried to stay in the game as long as possible, and probably tried to play on the break. It hurts me to say it, but we have a few players in our squad who have been brilliant for us, but are out of their depth at this level, or in one instance permanently injured. I am all for loyalty, but at this level, you have to be ruthless. Several players last night were not fully match fit, and I just hope they have come through without further problems.Unfair to put Johnson on in that match. He showed some good touches, and has great promise, but might be better off on an extended loan to gain match experience. Why didn't we strengthen in the window, to help the players who had done so well to get us in a reasonable position ? No depth up front at all, even a punt on a young striker on loan would have helped, or maybe Joe Taylor shouldn't have gone out on loan again to Lincoln ? We have boxed above our weight in a number of matches, and still have a chance to stay up, but this is a dog eat dog league, and I just hope we have enough in the tank to make a real fight of it, or will we just tail off, owing to a lack of squad quality and depth ?

Out of our depth against the European Champions, not really good enough.

A man who we signed from Accrington for nothing scored two fantastic goals against the best side in the world. Just saying.

Of course we're out of our depth against City. What did you expect?

Yes and he has had a few seasons to get up to the level he is at. It doesn't happen overnight or even one season, you build toward it.

They are your thoughts are they? …. Sounds to me, if you have just cut and pasted that drivel together from here over the last 10 hours.
We have just played a Man City side in their pomp, they got a 1-0 against Bournemouth last game, Pep had them fired up for this game, he was berating them non stop all game… that’s the level we were up against.
Did you see the quality and value of their bench?

We will probably lose against against Villa, Arsenal, Spurs, Fulham and Wolves and City again in the coming weeks…
We will probabably get relegated, but if we give it a go, that’s all I asked for at the beginning of the season, we have done that and more.
Get behind the team, and we might , just might scrape enoug points to stay up.

Of course we have some players that are "out of their depth" at this level to a degree because of where we have come from in the incredible time scale we have done it the entire club is out of its depth but boy is it giving it a go and providing entertainment and memories... and always never putting itself at risk.

For every gripe and moan I occasionally put on here I love this club, what it stands for and the way it conducts itself
