    Musings from last night

Got to say I felt a bit bemused by last night. I thought it was very dull, the crowd very flat. How are Luton supposed to compete against that? Man City seem to want to turn it into an exhibition... the Manchester Globetrotters.

Haaland is an absolute machine, and with De Bruyne next to him, unplayable.

A lot can be said about Man City and the way they've gone about things in the last 15 years... if that's what they want football to become, they can keep it.

I thought some of our tactics were a bit suspect. Not sure how we can expect to keep City out with the three centre halves and Chieo/Doughty essentially as midfielders. Lokonga is a huge miss and Barkley can't cover the ground of three players in effect.

The quality of the Man City bench is amazing. Foden sitting there didn't even have to warm up. Brought off Grealish for Doku. I mean even if you put me in charge I could probably lead that squad to a good PL finish without even turning up for work. Obviously then you add Pep into the mix and you have the level they are at. Obviously with the way we played it was simple for them - but we would have lost with a 442 and 8 behind the ball so may as well treat it is a learning experience against the best. And yes it is boring football they play in the sense it is controlled possession with a burst of brilliance - so 95% predictable - the 5% at the end is what does the opposition.

Didn't a commentator mention that City's bench is valued at 230m?

Yep 10 x our entire squad cost (I think was mentioned by someone)

Didn't we just. I'd like to see Clark playing up front with Adebayo.
