    FA Cup vs Survival

Posted by The Questioner 2 on 27/2/2024, 16:03:21

I am shocked at how many people would rather stay up than win the FA Cup. Fuck the Premier League I want a trophy. No-one remembers who stayed up years ago, an FA Cup win is eternal.

Give me the cup. It'll look good next to the League and Vase.
It's a shame we didn't win that non league cup thingy.

Mentioned this weeks ago and got slaughtered. I'd take winning The FA Cup. Once you've won it, can never be taken away.

Unless you are later found guilty……

Which won’t go down well on here for obvious reasons!

But the longer we stay in the premier league, the more chance we have of competing to win cups every year. This doesn’t have to be the high point for us - we will still build and grow from here, but that will be much easier while we remain in the premier league

I get that, I just think winning the FA Cup would be the final chapter to the greatest story ever written in football. Whatever happens this season our future financially is secured.

Having said that we will probably lose tonight anyway

Most of us probably don’t see the club as being near its final destination. I don’t want this to be the peak. We have every chance to keep improving, maybe not reach the absolute top but be a comfortable Premier League team that with a really good season one day might challenge for a Champions League spot.

I suppose in the longer term I agree. Although that progression probably needs us to be playing in PC.
