Wolves fans must be fuming, they didn't need to sell all those quality players
They were relegated because Everton weren't punished in the season when they should have been which is why I have no sympathy for the argument that it is unfair to punish them for two offences in the same season.
Cheats prosper. Is the whole FFP idea to protect clubs from themselves ie to stop them collapsing in bankruptcy? This weak punishment will just increase the risk of fans seeing their clubs disappear
No, it doesn't really do that although may make it more unlikely. They are still massive losses that are allowed under FFP which would be enough to drive any club that doesn't have a super rich backer towards bankruptcy (or ones that have a super rich backer whose other businesses get in trouble, or gets sanctioned etc etc).
A kind interpretation is that it stops unlimited spending which other clubs have to chase in order to remain competitive, leading to spiralling wages and transfer fees. But it also protects the elite who already have much greater income that the rest and don't want any competition elbowing their way in and taking a slice of the pie.
