    Water in boot help please

    Hi, I have a oldish toyota yaris and over christmas fond quite a bit of water in the boot where the tyre is stores.

    Has anyone got any ideas what might be the cause? Any help appreciated. Realise this qu was bought up a few months ago and discussed, but cant find that thread.

        I had a similar problem on a different car. Turned out that rain water was getting in through the rear light surround. Grease applied all around the area stopped it.

            It could just be rain coming in through an aperture (e.g. a hole). If so close the aperture (hole) with some plastic and glue or weld for permanent solution.

                We hada bit of water in the boot worked out it splashed up through a small rubber seal so we gorilla glued it then put surgical tape over
                Jobs a good un.

                      Just leave it there, it'll find a short cut out of the boot very quickly.
                      Toyota are going to make a car that runs on water , you could be on an earner there....

                        My son had a similar problem with his BMW, it was caused by blocked rain channels.

                          Dry it all out. Pour a little water in. Leave it long enough to find the low point. At that point, use a hole-cutter to form a 20mm hole in the floor. Easy in, easy out. Worked a treat in the footwells of a Mini I had in the '90s.
