Has it ever crossed your mind…

…that the reason you survived in the top division for so long last time was not because you were particularly good, but because you had a plastic pitch?

No longer do teams have to play ‘Lutonball’ where the ball bounces high.

Imagine playing professional football and wearing trainers

At that time you & the other winning scousers used to train on a synthetic pitch in Stanley Park.the robot hansen admitted it years later on match of the day.. so you knew all about how the pitch would play. Graig Johnson never had a problem playing on it, he showed the rest of your super stars up......

Ffs it’s almost 40 years since the pitch went down and you’re still whining about it because we beat you on it so many times. Sides with skilful football players didn’t struggle. Overhyped hoofers did.

Yes they did. You frequently best teams like Liverpool etc at home but got battered when you went away.

            Lutonball. Boing!

Imagine being scared if playing on a pitch with the most consistent and reliable bounce characteristics in the division, as defined by FA guidelines. Basically the pitch achieved what all the rest couldn't do in terms of consistency across the whole season.

there was only one manager and his club who always gave Luton a good game on that pitch. And he would never have used it as an excuse

The pitch was an advantage to teams that played fast flowing football on the ground, which is why QPR and Preston didn't have any success on their own plastic pitches. As you only live round the corner you should have known that.
