Left the club for personal reasons, his replacement would be Sir John Still and that seem to turn out pretty well

Buckle should have been given more time. I was a big fan of his and have his autograph.

Our worst ever manager replaced by one of the greatest. I disliked Buckle immensely largely because he was an exemplar of how poor managers get promoted above and beyond their station. I still find it hard to believe he was manager when we beat Norwich in the cup.

I disliked him as well, but if that offside goal at Wembley against York had been disallowed and we had gone on to win that game, then John Still would probably not have been Luton manager. I know that if my Granny had a pair she would have been my Grandad, but looking back I would now not change anything.

The bigger sliding doors moment was Walker’s header hitting the inside of the post via Wimbledon the year before. If that goes in it could’ve been ‘Brabs’ presenting the team with their Premier League debut balls and getting invited to the play off final!

What ifs ..but if we had beaten Wimbledon in 2011, its doubtful that Brabin would have gone on to lead us to three more promotions.

Neither did John Still, to be fair.

Still didn’t lead us to 3 promotions either, but he was a guest of the club at the training ground last week presenting the Premier League debut balls to the squad

Yes, or the penalty that wasn't given.

You're right though the post hit was the absolute moment.

And not just Brabs but Walker would have been a club hero too . . .

Yes, I think it all turned out for the best in the end.

Thankyou for that, I had managed to erase that and the penalty miss from my memory
