Hat doffed to all those going tonight, good effort, safe travels, back in the day the fa Cup had a magic to it, you didn't want to miss a fa cup match, often bigger crowds for fa cup games than league games, there would of been loads going tonight, now although still a good competition has that magic, probably because of premier league and champions league, i would love a trip to wembley though

I really do think they should give European places to the winners of domestic cups to give them a bit of that edge back.

Obviously that runs totally counter to what the big clubs want though unfortunately.

The winners of the domestic cups do get Europa League places don't they? Or do the League Cup winners only get to the Conference thing?

The FA Cup has an edge the further into the competition it gets (and the rich/big clubs always look delighted to win either knockout competition) but the 3rd and 4th round are nowhere near as edgy and important as they used to be

If we ever establish in the Prem I'd like to think we'd take the cups more seriously but we have other things on our mind this season. I want us to win tonight like I always do but I won't be too worried if we lose, especially with the crap draw we have

If the Cup winners have qualified for the Champions League then the Europa League spots go to the Prem. I think that's how it works

Roll on The Luton Away day in London or in Liverpool in Round 4 of the Fa cup

I believe so. In the past it used to be the runners up in the cup got the european spot but now it goes to the league position.
Which is another reason why mid-table and lower clubs put less focus on the cup, the rewards are harder to reap than by concentrating on the PL solely.
