    laws of the game

"IMPEDING THE PROGRESS OF AN OPPONENT WITHOUT CONTACT

Impeding the progress of an opponent means moving into the opponent’s path to obstruct, block, slow down or force a change of direction when the ball is not within playing distance of either player"

I think this is pretty much in line with what Adebayo did i.e moving into the keepers path while the ball was not in playing distance of either player.

Anyway not bothered, we were due a decision going in our favour and deserved a point with that 1st half performance.

There was a yard between the keeper and Eli's back when the cross came over.
When the keeper clattered into Eli( still facing away from the goal) Morris had already headed the ball.
Had the keeper stayed in his line, rather that coming out flapping like a startled rooster, he'd have saved it easily.
Ref and VAR termed it ' a coming together' of players
      Spot on

Really? The ball was definitely not in a playable position when the collision happened and it was before Morris headed the ball not after.

when the ball is not within playing distance of either player ...

The ball was in playing distance. It went over the keepers flapping arm and landed on Morris's head.

The ball was not in playing distance of Morris or the gk when Adebayo stepped into the gk's path and they collided. The ball was only in playing distance of Morris after they collided.

Seriously? blocking the gk's path to impede him doesnt require contact does it? It led to the contact.

No intention....just a coming together of two players

Soft goal to concede from there point of view but this is a contact sport......Adeboyo can't just make himself invisible because opposition gk misjudges the flight of the ball

Also happens at the start of every match as well when the opposition blocks the player within the first five seconds.

Rob Green on 5live after talking to Carlton stated that when a keeper leaves his 6 yard box he is deemed an outfield player and the protection for him is gone ...hence the ref and var stating it was a collision

If you watch Trafford closely and flight of ball he mis-judged the flight and came for ball too early.. then when reailsing he was not getting it he went down like he had been shot.
Yes of first view i looked like no goal but look closely, rightful goal and the least we deserved... COYH
