I'm Labour. I'm very left. I'm certainly woke, in the correct sense and meaning. I wouldn't choose him as PM. And, I'm certainly no luddite.

          Honest opinion.

This country is crying out for real change, was he the answer, I’ve no idea but at least he offered a chance to hammer corporations and fairness in society.

I don’t get that with Starmer but I’d vote for a one legged chicken than the Tory party.

bring it on, interest rates up to at least 10 percent. My mortgage is paid up, is yours?

I was at home in Enderby Road painting my first floor exterior windows in 1992. At the time, and in the morning of that particular day, mortgage rates were around 10.25% SVR. Around lunchtime, Norman Lamont, the then Tory Chancellor, had caused the SVR for mortgages to be raised to 15.75%. I remember distinctly as I had the radio on. I almost dropped my paint brush in shock when it was announced on the news. Luckily by mid afternoon the chief of The Bank of England had forced John Majors' Conservative government to bring interest rates back down.

It could and would've been calamitous for many homeowners seeing their mortgage payment increase massively. We were on the standard variable rate at the time and sitting on a £69000 mortgage. A housing crash was happening and many homeowners because of negative equity were handing their keys back. This would've nailed the coffin for many.

Tories have history on those kind of numbers yet eejits spout this rubbish untrue at Labour .

                      So you’d be happy then.

                      I’m delighted for us both.
