Turning into safe standing. Allocated seat/standing spot so loosing unreserved seating. Also increased capacity

Wonder how they going to allocate who stands/sits where..... I have stood in the same place since they re-opened the Oak rd back up to home fans

            Same.

Hoping at the very least we'll be given a choice of which block, front/back.

With the safe standing I have attended at away games you still get a “seat” so assume you will just be in the same position unless you ask to change.
Tbh with the exception of the Bobbers most views aren’t great at Kenilworth Rd so standing would help imo.

Currently it's unallocated so people sit where they want.

According to the OP that will change to allocated seating.

Yes, but either way I think it's a good step. Would love to see it in the enclosure too, well J Block at least as they do tend to stand up too. Might not be so popular further along.

PC going to be a long way off then if they're spending even more money of KR.

I presume this is where the capacity might jump above Bournemouth, capacity crowds have been a little odd so far on numbers, can't make sense of it.

                              Re: Oak road.

All the safe standing I have used takes up the same space as a regular seat so don’t think that would change capacity.

Was just trying to apply some logic to our current capacity and prior claims from GS.

Me neither, I think you could be right.

And neither could I to start with. Then I learnt that with unreserved seating there remains a certain %age (not sure exactly how much) that cannot be sold as people group together and leave odd seats dotted around (or something like that) but the the point being you cannot sell total number of seats if selling them as unreserved.

So by allocating each seat to a standing position you can therefore increase capacity even though you're still actually still only using the same amount of seats (if you're still with me).

You could still increase capacity in the Oak simply by making it allocated seating but that would definitely not be popular!!!!

Oh right definitely didn’t know that. Why do people not want allocated seating in the Oak or are you just talking about away fans?

                                      Re: Oak road.

Because the view is so rubbish that there are so many restricted views in the Oak but if you're standing you can easily slightly move to gain a view.

That is exactly what they intend to do, but at this rate will need upgrading again before we move!
