The 'powers that be' have been demonising the small landlords - despite the crucial role in providing good homes for millions of people. Lot of media obsessed mugs have sold off their property - now big institutions are taking over. If you are private tenant you will see how different it will be dealing with a hedge fund rather than the bloke who lives down the road and will come round and fix your leaking tap at 4 in the morning!

There are a lot of decent small landlords, my wife and I rent out her house, same family for about the past 20 years. We've looked after them and they've been good tenants, did it all the "wrong" way in terms of who we picked too but it's worked out.
There are though equally a lot of utter shit small to medium landlords who behave like absolute tossers and deserve anything that gets thrown at them!
