    Darts players - early 80s vs now

    Obviously the current players return significantly higher averages but how much of that is modern dartboards with thinner wires, bigger targets for doubles/trebles, and advancements on the actual dart?

    I guess we can say darts is one sport where sports nutrition is not a huge issue, although not drinking 8 pints in a game probably helps.

      You can’t compare this with the 1980s.

      This is a proper sport. Back then the BDO treated it as a pub game.

      Yes the boards are better now but Taylor wouldn’t have won half his World Championships playing in this era. .
