Bolton Tickets

Plenty of tickets available for this game
Would have thought with all the whining from the wet wipes, we would have sold out.
Let’s hope the “real” fans show up…
Or will they only come out when out when we play the “big” clubs/their 2nd team

Describe a ' real' fan to me please, and then tell me how you measure up to it. Hands out of pockets while you do it☝️

I am going to go - not been able to get any league tickets this season -I have never complained - in the lower divisions I attended about 5 or 6 home games per season so hardly committed - others deserve tickets ahead of me. Of course I do wonder where the extra 5k fans have come from when they never turned up to watch us vs National league teams..........

Pity, just pity.

Give over.
Like I've said before, you can't compare a cup game with the riggors of the league so comments such as yours are foolish.
It really is quite simple. When you go to football, do you go to watch Luton or do you go watch the other team?

It's such a ridiculous question then that it doesn't warrant an answer.

Its a very sensible question as well you know, as you know your answer will make a mockery of your first reply.

Ok I'll bite to give you whatever gratification that that gives you.
Of course I go to watch Luton. But, and this is where MG is spot on, it doesn't make a mockery of my original reply at all. That is because we are not going to play a full strength team against Bolton. And even if we were they are not the same calibre of opposition to watch us pick our wits against. And the fact that league games and cup games are different in nature it's utterly ridiculous to compare the two.
And just for your information I'm like many fans on here who are not season ticket holders but have been watching Luton over 40 odd years, home, and away through all 5 divisions going to anything between a handful and 20+ games a season having watched us at all four corners of the country; Plymouth (plus Torquay), Southend, Carlisle, and Newcastle (plus Sunderland and Hartlepool). I have watched us at almost 70 different grounds over the years from Man Utd to Hayes & Yeading and yet not once have I complained about not being able to get a ticket this season. As it happens I've been to two games; Gillingham and Burnley.
I hope that gives you the satisfaction you were looking for.

So, you have paid to watch Luton teams that were in no way shape or form as good as the weakened team we will put out v Bolton?

And just to add, choosing to pay to go to a cup game knowing it will not be a 1st XI out there is very different to having to make do because it's all you get tickets for.

Cannot see why people don't want to go especially with a Winter break coming.

Because we appear to have very little interest in progressing in any cup competitions and it’s almost a certainty that few vital players will be risked. Shadow squad at best. 5th round home to Chelsea being the worst example which we might even have won had we gone full tilt at it.

How do you arrive at the premise in your first sentence?
Re: Bolton Tickets

I think he/she has addressed the point by stating that we will almost certainty use the shadow squad.
In recent seasons we've lost to Stevenage, Newport, Grimsby and Exeter - maybe others that don't come to mind immediately.

We have 25 players in our squad. What the hell is a ‘Shadow Squad’ ?

Ok, not the first choice starting XI.
Re: Bolton Tickets

That would be correct Terry. Most clubs tend to avoid cups now until the latter rounds and even then you have West Ham sending a reserve squad to Liverpool for a QF. When else do the shadow squad players get a game?
