Premier league table this season vs last season

Posted by Sandgrounder on 28/12/2023, 9:58:33

After 18 games this season we have 15 points.

This is more than Southampton (relegated) and Wolves (stayed upon had at the same stage last season.

It’s the same number of points that Everton and West Ham had (both stayed up)

And only 1 fewer than Bournemouth (stayed up) and 2 fewer than Leeds and Leicester (relegated) and Forest (stayed up).

So despite everything we’ve actually had a fairly average ‘bottom 8 side’ first 18 games - we’re doing brilliantly and still improving.

The most encouraging bit is the rate at which we're learning. I don't think there's anyone now that would consider us an 'easy touch'

But we are crap, an embarrassment, not even trying to stay up etc etc etc

Sticking two fingers up at the rich kids and spoiling their fun....is fun.

          Isn't it just!

            Only downside for me.

We do have to go away to the top 4_sides yet anecdote best will in the world be very hard to expect much from any of those games. So we have to maximise the home games now imo

We have played Villa away from home who are third.
However we have played only two of the top 8 away from home.

Yes and that's fine. The flip side is that we've played them all at home and overall done very well against them. So all our home matches we should be looking to get something from.

Hmm depends how you define well ( agree put up good performances) but we have played for 18 points at home against the top 8 and have 4 points.
My big hope is that (Brentford aside) we seem to be getting better. Wish we had the Wolves , Burnley & West Ham at home games again.

Yeah that's a fair comment too.
