Never really gave them a second thought as a club - another pointless northern club that bounce around the bottom end of the middle ranks of English football for ever. However their fans seem to think that losing to Luton is a disgrace. I find that strange given we were both in the same division last year and we beat them at their ground then too.

Stop judging an entire fanbase from a few dicks over social media.
Loads of sound Sheffield United fans in the flesh over the past few trips up there.
They are a proper football club and overall good luck to them (not at our expense of course)

We met a few Sheffield United fans before the game and they were really decent. They said they really wanted us to stay up, and that we are more likely to stay up than they are. They knew most of our players and talked about Pelly's rise through the leagues with us. Proper fans.

Ditto. A club with a fantastic history in one of the founding cities of English football and decent, knowledgeable fans. It was a bit shit there in the hoolie/bbc days but Sheffield is a lovely, friendly city and their fans are in general a good and honest bunch.
That couple of complete balloons near our fans were very funny, unintentionally!

Had we lost yesterday in the manner that they lost I would have been disappointed. This board would be rammed full of new names having a pop at the keeper and the two who scored own goals. For all of our graft, resilience and effort yesterday, sheffield utd's display all but gifted us 3 points.
They care, they are deeply upset and this loss has them firmly heading for the exit to the championship. Expect saltiness and flounces from their less gifted fans. Our lot would be no different in the same circumstances.

I worked in Sheffield for a few years and thought their fans were OK. Mostly fans are fans whatever club they support, a mix of sensible and loonies. 😇

In their defence, they are a bigger club than us. That is if you go by major trophies won. The league I think and the FA Cup a number of times. The when doesn't matter. They've done it and we haven't. And that's all that matters.

They might be a bigger club but only in terms of support, they haven't won the league since 1898 and the FA cup since 1925. We have won a trophy more recently.

Some of their fans is not all. There was a big thread about "dont underestimate Luton" and most response was "it doenst matter if we as fans do or dont" and " we arent". Post game someone posted "ok own up whose fault was it for underestimating Luton".
Some interesting comments on the racist remarks allegations as well. Some say "you fat c*nt" was shouted and misheard. A case of wait to see what the investigation brings up I think. We didnt like it when jombie accuse us of it. Ok Carlton was a lot nearer than she was..but wait and see before condeming a whoel section of fans based on what one person MAY have said. (If its sown that person did then yeah deserves everything they get)

To be accurate, Jaquie Oatley was in Germany at the time and relaying what her mate told her, which is why she was heavily critizied at the time.
