    January Business

Firstly - delighted to get past the dreaded 11 point marker and before Xmas at that. Pundits please eat humble pie!

We need to deregister Tom for the 2nd half of the season as realistically he isn't going to play; his recovery is his sole priority and hopefully back playing next season. Replace with a experienced CB.

Sadly I think Berry, Potts and Woodrow are not going to get much, if any, game time. It is time for them to move on to get playing again and to free up 3 slots in the 25. Then replace with whatever RE thinks he needs.

Extend Townsend's contract until the end of the season.

Give Ross Barkley a 5 year contract.
Best player I've seen here since Ricky Hill.

I`d like to see the PL give us dispensation to name an extra man in the squad. Tom won`t play again this season if at all you`d imagine. But be nice to keep him involved in the squad. Be a nice gesture from the PL as well.

As for Potts - he may yet have a part to play. Berry can get you that goal as a last throw of the dice gamble. And Cauley does have that ability to get a goal from distance. We extended their contracts for a reason

We extended their contracts so someone has to pay us to release them.

Do we actually need to replace tommy though...we have bell, osho, mengi, burke, andersen and potts..

I think its uptop we need to look at, granted the hardest place to find someone but brown and eli are doing well but morris isnt doing great at moment.

Midfield we seem to have plenty of options to

I'd bring in experience for Lockyer but maybe replace Potts with a player with development potential, maybe 20 year old Ronnie Edwards at Peterborough?

If they are 20 they don`t take up a squad space

The rate we lose centre backs I wouldn't let Potts go anywhere.

good post - have to be pragmatic - are we going to spend any money though? surely 20/20 can see we have some chance of staying up now so perhaps worth a gamble e.g. Akpong?

Actually the 3 most influential figures this season have cost us next to nothing - Barclay, Townsend and Doughty. So there may be more bargains out there - who knows.

Would send Clark out on loan aswell as won't get much game time. Got chong, nakamba, lokonga, barkley and pelly. Possible gamble and send shea out on loan.

We need three 'keepers so as Shea seems happy with his lot it makes no sense to loan him out.
