To me it was a bit of a Jeckell and Hyde performance In the first half he was absolutely excellent but second half very strange decisions?

Said the same yesterday, first half read the game well, and let it flow, despite various crunching tackles. 2nd half gave some really strange ones , especially Barclays booking

Thought exactly the same. I actually thought at half time. Wow the ref has been brilliant, letting stuff go. Then second half he was terrible. I was wondering if someone had been in his ear at halftime.

the one their keeper put over the goal line for a corner.... goal kick, decision corner....then goal kick. Barclays booked for shirt pulling, 5 mins later, the Newcastle player was shirt pulling in front of the ref, but there was no foul or booking. The word or action missing from the referee's training manual is consistent decision-making, if it is a foul in the first incident then it is also a foul in the second incident.

The Newcastle players were drawing his attention to the lino who was better placed in giving a goal kick. I would imagine the lino was literally in the referees ear as well.
Obviously doesn't feed any conspiracy bollocks but the facts can do that.

Fact they were yes. Was ref incompetent for not checking with the linesman yes. Neither suggests I said it was a conspiracy. But obviously you must be an expert so if you say so.
