Who is going to step up?

To keep us in this league? I know it will be a big ask to replace Tom, hopefully Barkley or Townsend can, Osho needs to take over in defence and Mass Anderson, if we get relegated then so be it, but we need to do it for Tom.
We are 2/3 players away from a team that can survive in this league - it’s already been said by RE we won’t be recruiting this January And without our captain I think we have zero chance of survival
There is a big difference between not making big changes and not recruiting at all and, obviously, when he made that comment, Tom would have been part of the 25 for the second half of the season.
To me, signing 2 or 3 players would not constitute big changes.
Think it depends if we sell or loan some. As has been commented on here before we only have 25 places so would need to make room for more experienced players. Hope Tom will remain our captain. He can still do a job for us on or off the pitch. Love to see him as part of the management team.
I do believe there will be signings, but what happened yesterday will have a huge impact on the rest of the season. Mentality will be a struggle for some of the staff and players and will play a huge part.
As I've said before, all that matters is that Tom recovers well and that we As a club stick by him, which I know will happen. The past year has been a rollercoaster but what happened yesterday just brings a lump to the throat.
Once they’ve all come to terms with the upsetting nature of what happened they will hopefully be galvanised by it and go again. Seven months is a long time in football and RE will have noted that some of those squad players have just not been pulled along with the others. They are unlikely to be of any real value appearance wise second half of the season and they maybe moved out on loan. Permanent might be hard though as their now wages might exceed their worth to another championship team. Leave those decisions to those who know.
