I love Tom I love this club I loved the way that MOTD showed true respect I love all of the headlines in the national newspapers And most of all I love the way that the whole football community has come together on this I haven't seen a negative comment from anyone including all of our rivals And I thank you all God bless you and God bless Tom
Let's resist being too mawkish. Big Mick's daily challenges for the last two years are far more serious. My only gripe would be that, in a £170 million game in May, Tom's condition was a whole lot scarier. Yet we played on. Tom has a medical condition which is entirely treatable and non-life threatening at all.
Tom is a 29 year old man in the peak of his career, who has collapsed twice with cardiac arrest in 6 months - I think it’s really unsavoury to compare with a totally unrelated illness to someone at a totally different stage of their life.
Wembley couldn’t be replayed, but yesterday could. Simple as.
This second time is scarier, as it very much signals the end of Tom’s career and further challenges down the line for him. I’m not sure how you would know it’s entirely treatable unless you are his doctor…
The two games (Wembley and Bournemouth) were completely different; the first was a one-off in a stadium that is always booked for months in advance, and needed to be completed so that we and Coventry could plan for the season ahead.
Yesterday's could and will, be re-arranged easily.
Agree with that. The only negative that I have seen is those trying to use this sad thing to push their anti vaccine propaganda. Whilst I don't agree with them, they have a right to their opinion but, as far as I am concerned, this is not the right situation to be pushing that opinion.
What can be said. Times like these show how precious life is. Tell those you care about how much you care. Never been more proud to be a hatter and part of this club.
This afternoon is something that I would never want to go through again. It was horrible standing there watching all of it going on whilst not knowing what was happening. We all realised that it was a serious incident but couldn't get a signal to find any updates online. It was very eerie and, as someone said, at times it was quieter than when there is meant to be a minute's silence.
I actually found out that the game had been abandoned from someone nearby who was on the phone to someone who had found out from 3CR. Seemed a strange announcement to say that the game had been suspended rather than saying abandoned.
It must have been tough for the players of both sides and I don't think that any of them would have been able to concentrate properly if the game had restarted.
There was a very subdued atmosphere on the coach on the way home.
I travelled back to London by train with 3 fellow AFCB fans. Our journey was very muted too, football, any sport, is irrelevant when something like this happens.
I just hope that Tom can get back to something like a normal life. He and his family have some difficult decisions to make but that is for the future. We just need him to recover at the moment.
Thanks to you and your fellow Bournemouth fans for your impeccable behaviour yesterday. Having just equalised, you must have felt that you could go on to win the game but you accepted the decision to abandon the game as the right thing to do and the positive support for Tom was very much appreciated by those in the away section.
