Updated statement

We are able to provide a further, positive update on Tom Lockyer’s condition.
Our medical staff have confirmed that the Hatters captain suffered cardiac arrest on the pitch, but was responsive by the time he was taken off on the stretcher.
He received further treatment inside the stadium, for which we once again thank the medical teams from both sides.
Tom was transferred to hospital, where we can reassure supporters that he is stable and currently undergoing further tests with his family at his bedside.
We would like to thank everyone for their support, concern and loving messages for Locks.

Cardiac Arrest!!!
That's horrific! And very life threatening. Always difficult to discern how severe a situation is on the pitch. Although the medics and officials suggest it was significant. Glad to hear he's responsive but he must be devastated. Feel for him and his family. Lovely comments by Jason Mohammed on Final Score.
Hope and pray he pulls through, he's such a lovely bloke.
I’m afraid that a cardiac arrest sounds pretty serious compared to atrial fibrillation (which is what happened in the play-off final), which is an irregular heartbeat which can cause temporary loss of consciousness. Not sounding good but let’s hope he makes a full recovery, whether or not he can play for us again.
Very well done to Billing, he was the one who rushed straight to Lockyer, called the ref and seemed to get straight on the case. Well done to all the medics
