Less so on here (true hatters, init), but on Twitter Amari'i is getting a slating.

Mad in my opinion. Yes he gave the ball away for their goal. But Barkley, Doughty, and probably everyone else all also lost the ball at some point, Bell's turnover just turned out to be more costly through what happened afterwards. Man City press as well as any team in history, and getting dispossessed once in 90 minutes against them is nothing to be ashamed of.

Expectations are high but it seems football knowledge is really lacking. You shouldn't dig players out for 'mistakes' in my opinion - football is to a large extent a game of ricochets and random bounces and luck, and the line between an error leading to a goal and a non-event that's instantly forgotten is tiny.

If a player is putting in the effort, holding his position well, contributing to an overall good display, then that should go down as a good performance.

What do you expect from Twatter Brko.

The only player I would criticise yesterday is Nakamba. His booking for not giving back the ball, to delay City taking a free kick, was so irresponsible. Now he is banned for our next match.

When he stopped them taking the free-kick ten yards further forward than it should have been, you mean.

          Cheers, Jim

Thing is, our defenders have a lot more defensive actions so statistically are bound to make more mistakes. My approach to this type of thing is that Amarii is one of the lads who got us up (I believe he’s the only player who started yesterday and also started in the second leg at Huddersfield 18 months ago). So he’s earned his chance, end of

If footballers didn't make mistakes there'd hardly be any goals

I just don't understand how anyone can publicly criticise any of our lot at the moment. They're not the most gifted footballers in the division (obviously) but they're still a group of very good players, they're honest, hard-working and leave everything out on the pitch

Any technical deficiencies or mistakes are (or should be) easily forgiven when their attitude is so good

I just think we need to play with a little less fear away from home (apart from the Liverpool, Arsenal, City and Spurs games where we will have to go ultra-defensive) and risk a hammering here and there in a bid to win games. We might only need to win another couple away from home to give us a good chance of staying up. The home form might take care of itself if this last month at KR, performance-wise, is anything to go by

Bell has been fine. We miss him when he isn’t in the side.

Emotional types need to discipline themselves to stay off social media for at least 12 hours after the game.
