    a load of thoughts

Posted by Frak on 11/12/2023, 11:36:34

-Brown is much better than he was

-Giles is not good or positive enough

-playing from the back was a lot better yesterday than under g. jones

-City did not look like treble winners at all and i like to think we played a part in making them look ordinary.

-while we won't be down by Christmas (screw you Crooks) we will go down. Redknapp is right. going to take a miracle and i can't see it coming. not because we're not good but because the others are hitting form and stretching away.

-I don't remember looking at teams around us as early as this in all my long years of watching Town

-Kaminski is the best keeper i've seen for us in 45 years.

-Kenilworth Road feels like a different place in this league and i don't think I like it as much. maybe i'm just miserable but it seems full of new people who don't know anything.

-we knew it would be hard and we'd give it a go. We really are and i'm proud but i want some points now because i don't want us just to be brave Luton, we are better than that

-it would be just our luck to lose against Sheff Utd after all this!

It’s not about other teams, we need about 25 points from the remaining games to have a chance of staying up. Control the controllables and never too high, never to low we’re never more apposite

"full of people who don't know anything".

The large majority of the home crowd are going to be the same people as last year . . .

I think season tickets not being used and just left as an empty seat has changed, this season I've hardly seen a spare seat in the place. Mates of mates are jumping on them to get to a game.

I dont think that's a bad thing though.

            Fair point.

If we lose to Sheff Utd it wont be luck.

Having not worried about defending for the first 3 games, Giles is now overly paranoid about defending and doesn't get forward enough. I actually feel for the lad. He looks stronger than he did though and I think they are working on his upper body strenght in the gym. If given enough opportunities I think he will come good and be another Doughty, but it probably wont be under the microscope this season.

Agreed. Whilst I still think he was a slightly odd signing, as we had an extremely good LB already in Doughty), if he can get stronger then he is going to be an asset, at least as a backup to Doughty. And if we go down he is proven to be a massive threat in the Championship.

Doughty may well get a move to another lower-half PL club in the summer if he keeps performing as he is.

I remember losing at home to Sheffield United on Boxing Day 1991 which was only their second win of the season (a couple of days after their first win) and their first away win! Was an awful game.

It was 1990, we beat Arsenal on Boxing Day 1991.

As you said, it was an awful game.

A couple of weeks later, we beat them at their place in the FA Cup.

Oh mate. One of the worst games I’ve ever been too. Looked like Luton had been to their Xmas meal about an hour before.
