No, because he couldn't be given enough to make a difference. We knew at start that we would almost certainly go back down. Now we have seen improvement, we think there is a good chance to stay up. But for what? To have the same season next year and the next? Keep the money for PC. Stay up with what is already there if possible. If not, go down financially sound and a good squad for championship.
Always been the plan. Don't throw it away on a "maybe".

How do you know he couldn’t be given enough - are you party to inside information? And how do you measure what is enough?
The two truly premier league class players are Barkley & Townsend. Find more like that, if possible.
