Mad he only scored 7 last season and has 4 this season already. Suits this team style of play better than Morris it seems. Also has the potential to pull off the unexpected. So nearly rolled their defenders in the second half in the box. Hope he maintains this form.

My opinion, which is worth jack sh!te, is that Morris is one of our few(4 or 5) genuine Premier League players. Can't get my head around why we've not harnessed that so far. Well done Elijah, though.

This is controversial as fuck. But.. He hasn't done much.

Without him, we wouldn't be here, and it's a credit to RE that he can leave him out today.

He's a talented player, but he's not offering anything at the moment.

Today we went toe to toe with European champions. Morris instead of Adebayo wouldn't have got us the lead today.

Maybe more of a Brown type role?

Morris needs to be more mobile up front and use movement to get some space.

Looks very static and that isn’t going to work as a lone striker.

Morris could work as a 10 or with another striker as his finishing will create goals. Needs to speed up all his on field actions and reactions though.

I'm a mug when it comes to football, but I thoought that:

Morris was the best of the Championship, but someone who's solved in the Premier League. Whereas, Adebayo just rocks up and says "hihi". Man City had no answer to him.

I'd hate there to be a Luton without Morris this season. But questions MUST be asked.

Fucking hell, and Townsend today?!?!? It felt like he was everywhere today. Surely this competition is going to create magic.

I think a lot of the improvement in Elijah is directly linked to the improvement in Doughty and his crossing, not to mention the other additions to the squad.

It’s very clear that the best defenders in the world absolutely hate having to defend against him in the air, and getting these good deliveries is giving him the chance to show his class.

Showing the form of his first 12 months with us, being dominant in the air again. Him and Morris aren’t a natural partnership though they obviously did well at times last season. Looks confident at the moment.

And many from sub appearances, goals from open play. He will be and is vital for our slim survival hopes.
