    Amari’i Bell

Not my usual style to slate a player, but Bell really does need benching! At fault for first goal we conceded back in August (Solly March header), and a few more goals since.

I realise our defence has picked itself recently due to injuries, but hopefully that will change now with Andersen back, Burke close and Osho should be alright for next week according to RE post-match.

My big criticism with summer recruitment was not signing a left centre-back, especially when signed a left wing-back we didn’t really need in Ryan Giles!

I feel harsh as Bell was brilliant last season and deserved his new contract, but he has frustrated me in the Prem!

I’m sure he would be on the bench if Osho was fit. But the three centre halfs that played today are the only fit ones we have right now (I know Andersen was on the bench but he hasn’t played in weeks due to injury)

Left footed centre back, I would doubt any of the other centre backs would give the same balance.

Tend to agree he has a hall pass in respect of criticism

Bell's problem is he is just too one footed.

He regularly gets turned inside out because he is not comfortable getting across his man on his right side.

            So don't .....

BTW - who would you've picked instead today?

RE is playing Bell so retards like you will lay off Pelly a bit. With every goal conceded, someone could have done something better. Barkley lunged in on his man for the first goal and the space opened up. Mengi did a ‘God knows what’ for the winner. Shall we drop those 2? Elijah cost us at least a point against Spurs, I bet you was calling for his head.

It's a big step and some players will take more time than others.
Thought Giles was the weak point today tbh but having hardly played the last few months, it was perhaps to be expected given the standard of opposition.
Recruitment wise, I think the main mistake was not getting another right back in.

Totally agree on right-back, I’ve mentioned before on here too. I think we will sign one in January. I can see us just going with the current centre-backs as have seven including Dan Potts!

1 or 2 could be shipped out of course

Spot on. Some players haven risen to the challenge more than others. Belk is a solid player, perhaps Premier League is just a step too high. Does not make him a bad player. Could still come good, look at Adebayo. He took time but now looks like he belongs
