    Giles

Would love to know why he did not start on Saturday.
Edwards must really not fancy him - no way Bell is Prem level in that position.

In the first 3 games with him at LWB we shipped 9 goals, many coming down his side. I think not tracking the WHU scorer was probably the final straw. When we signed him the Boro fans said he was a great crosser of the ball but not so good defensively, and so it has proven. We may also have thought we’d continue with two up front when crosses into the box are more important, but we’ve moved away from that since Fulham. I’m sure he’s working hard in training and we’ll see him at some time.

Only seen Giles twice and he seemed slow in movement and thought. No sense of urgency or intensity and always seemed to look for sideways and backward passes. Can't remember any decent crosses. Unfair?

I'd say a touch unfair, I felt he was very good going forward.

Think the stats say otherwise on crosses.
I was impressed with him going forward.

Likewise, some of his crossing at Brighton was excellent.

Seems more likely he'll make an impact further up the pitch, either as a replacement for Ogbene or Townsend.

Maybe Edwards thought Bell was a stronger defender than Giles to specifically counter Olise's threat

Which worked until Olise did him twice in the build up to the goal, and was a constant menace throughout

But we don't know if the twice was more or less than Giles would have been done

Bell clearly is Premier Quality. They got us promoted.

Think Giles Is great going forward but Bell the better defender.

Thay have all taken a massive step up. Let's be positive and enjoy being us.

Whatever RE thinks and knows how about we back his judgement? All these games coming up in December we are bound to have to use all at our disposal including our record signing. They are all learning together and with the exception of Barkley and Townsend no one else has played consistently at this level.

I think Bell is Prem quality on the left side of a back 3….not as a left wing back. It is Giles’s natural position so if he is not going to get selected when Doughty is not playing there I am not sure when he will…

                        He can’t defend
Bell not the best in that position either

You don't need to be a coach to have an opinion.
If he was a coach does that mean all coaches would all have the same opinion.

Opinion is opinion professional or amateur.

Bell is significantly better as a left sided centre back than a left back

                                  Agreed

Wouldn’t disrupt the current back 3
