RE will take that performance away look at it and work on it. Big clubs lose cup games to smaller clubs all the time
    Sutton
    Lincoln
    Cambridge
    LTFC
    Exeter

    to name a few

yes I still have lot of faith in Edwards to keep us up and I think this kind of result can help because it warts and all. The sort of Fulham result can be much worse because it is like "we were the better team but lost" which I think is a shit logic. A loss is a loss and a narrow loss is still a loss etc etc. I would rather we stink the place out in EFL cup than league (like Shef U on Sunday) and that the players realise not to waste the opportunity they have been given

If that's a serious question I'd look at how long John Still had after promotion i.e. a season and a half. If then we are well below expectations (which should be relegation this season and challenging towards the top of the Championship next) then it would have to be considered. For now though, not even on the radar.

as long as it takes this isnt non league this is the best league in the world with billion pound spending clubs every season. Be nice to take a few scalps but happy to keep RE no matter what. We aint his old club we dont sack a manager every 5 minutes.

Pleat came close to the sack in his early days but he got the mix right within a year or two. Look where that took us .

I think Edwards is getting closer to his best team. It shows making a lot of changes rarely works.

Problem is, the manager doesn't know the Premier League and nor do the players. So they all have to learn very, very quickly because the matches slip by fast. Two huge games coming up and we have to get points because otherwise that's a big chunk of the supposedly 'easy' fixtures gone. We haven't played anyone of any real note yet. Okay, Brighton are very good and Chelsea are a big name but they have been absolutely rubbish, which doesn't put our result in the best light.

Losing to Exeter in the cup isn't the end of the world – after all, it's not that long ago we were losing to Exeter in League 2 – so perspective is required.

But the lack of goals is a concern. Here we are, six weeks into the season and already we're resting players for a midweek game rather than giving the first team a chance to build some confidence by creating and taking some chances.

I don't buy this whole the manager doesn't know the Premier League and nor do the players nonsense. It's a game of football for crying out loud. And whilst the standard may be higher than what virtually all are used to it's the same sport. If they're good enough so what if they've not played in that particular league before. Afterall we've got a few internationals on our books now too. And are you trying to tell me that Lockyer's behaviour had absolutely zero impact on that Wolves player getting sent off?
