Frustrating but the problem was lack of quality rather than effort. Pelly, in particular, gave everything. So I’m not too despondent.
However, it was only when our first choice forwards came on that we started to look like scoring. What has happened to Elijah? He should be tearing it up at this level, as should Chong. Both hooked by Edwards. As was Doughty, who looked pissed off.
Mads looked comfortable between two very young defenders. Both Johnson and Mengi look like a work in progress
Our fans were a bit muted this evening. Difficult to get the chants going.
Many fans rushed off to their carriages at the final whistle but about half stayed to give polite applause to the players and manager. Morris have his shirt to a young lad - nice gesture.
