    Five injured first team players?

Posted by Batford pot hole on 26/9/2023, 17:30:24

The decisions taken now do look pretty stupid.

Including two players in the 24 who won’t play until January?

Perhaps Menghi will play further forward to cover?

Nineteen fit players and two of those are keepers.

We need 20 for a match day.

You haven't even stopped to consider that we are on a tight budget, extremely tight, for the division. It hasn't even occurred to you that what we went with may have been seen as the best option within that budget has it?

But only 16 can play. And we have a youth team. And Barkley is back soon.

Other than JJ name me another player even close to being a first team player?

Can I just say I'm not keen on that sort of attitude towards youth players. You genuinely do not know if a player can make the step up untill you give them the opportunity. James Justin wasn't even the most fancied of our youth products at the time and he fared well enough.

Quite the opposite actually, watched the FA Youth Cup run and the Devs when they play but other than JJ there isn’t anyone proven even at that level.

Chelsea stuffed us last week and yes I did go, unlike most on here.

I think you've overplayed your cards so much that many are totally bored by your negative, repetitive and often laughable posts, no matter how often you change your name.

And it's very telling that an unfortunate situation injury becomes an excuse for triumphalism on your part.

It's all about you, isn't it? Not Luton Town at all.

Of course not but like many of us I am gutted at this news.

He is clearly a class act and it’s kick in the guts to lose him so soon.

But this is made worse because we have an effective squad of 21 with Osho, Potts and Clark out injured for an indeterminate time.

It’s bad planning and we were hoping to get away with a tiny squad and this news makes that look a very bad decision.

Hard to dress it up any other way.

I am boring old fart true but I just see this situation as predictable.

                        A tiny squad?

We made 12 signings this summer.

We've kept one space available for a free agent.

Who would you have signed? And who from the current squad would you have got rid of to improve the tiny squad?

Our midfielders are Pelly, Nakamba, Barkley, Lokonga, Berry, Chong and Clark. that's 7 players for 2 or three spaces.

This injury is bad luck, and not bad planning.

You were made to look a bit of a tit last season with your histrionics, I thought you might be a little wiser this season.

Because you can’t take risks with a squad of 21 particularly when you didn’t need to.

Why let Campbell and Taylor go when you didn’t actually need to.

                                    Madness.

                                        Campbell wanted first team football

Taylor will benefit more from playing every week than he will playing one game in 20 for us
