I'm intrigued as to why you think that HS2 was such a bad idea in the first place. You were asked yesterday but haven't yet responded. Everyone knows about the catalogue of issues that it has raised since planning and construction have begun but you were keen to suggest that the idea in itself was bad. Why did you think that?

This was supposed to be a football thread but here goes. We already have an adequate north to south rail service. The time savings on journeys are minimal if they exist at all. All that HS2 will really do is to allow London commuters to live further out to take advantage of lower property prices, at enormous cost to us taxpayers. What we really need are better east west rail services. And Brown looks match fit to me, should be rested tonight.

Fair play for answering although I could rip your answers to shreds as I have on many occasions (not you personally) when it comes to people not understanding HS2 and what the economic and travel benefits of it would bring. I haven't got time now to repeat it all.

but what about the argument that it will free up space on the existing line for more local services? I still Adebayo to Brown.

It seems to be the only argument for HS2, the money would be better spent on upgrading services in the North. Brown has only had a handful of starts but looks more at home than Adebayo in the PL.

could really do with both HS2 to Leeds and a much needed upgrade on East to West. Think Adebayo's height would have been handy for the crosses that were wasted Saturday, also his close control and trickery in the box has been missed.

They're building the Cambridge to Oxford line which will help with east-west in the south. They are also upgrading the Transpennine route up north. HS2 is about giving more capacity but terminating it at Old Oak Common is a silly idea as nobody wants to fanny around on the Elizabeth line to get North.
Get Ryan Giles to the line and serve up some tasty crosses for Eli or pulling it back to Woodrow.

I agree with AC. There's not actually alot wrong with the trains in this country IMO. Some more carriages on the busier trains needed and if the cùnts could stop striking, jobs a good un.
Not sure how much difference Elijah would have made with those crosses tbh. For such a big lad, he's not the greatest in the air.
