Blue Badge parking for home games

Posted by John on 21/9/2023, 13:11:27

    Hi all

Does anyone know where is good to park for someone who struggles with walking for home games? They have a blue badge. We usually park at the train station but they’re struggling now with walking that distance to the ground.

Any help or advice greatly appreciated!

You can park on double yellow lines for a maximum of three hours, providing you are not in a dangerous position, I.e. on/near a bend, near traffic lights, pedestrian crossings, blocking entrances etc. All about using common sense really.

Doesn't a blue badge allow you to park on single yellow lines so getting nearer to the ground should be possible

Yes, I recall talking to someone doing just that in Hazlebury Crescent a few years ago.

Get the Z bus from the train station and go to the Cliton road stop, about 10 minutes to the ground via beech path. I always use the bus

Depends on which area of the ground you sit in but you may be able to find parking in Hazlebury Crescent or top of Kenilworth Road for Main Stand access.

Alternatively try parking around Ivy Road or Maple Road if entering from the other side of the Main Stand or Oak Road.

You should be able to use your blue badge in the paid parking spaces in the vicinity of the ground.

You can park in the bays that are not residents only and it doesn’t charges for the meters are exempt for people that have a blue badge. I have a blue badge and that is what I used to do,unfortunately I can’t travel that distance anymore and had to give my season ticket up, good luck hope you get a space.
