    Impact subs

Why does RE always wait untill we fall behind with substitutions and only try and make a real impact on the game after 70 minutes.
The longer the season is going on the more I feel all these new signings are no better than last season's squad.
Wolves is a must win game for me and we should be worrying about our game and not theres..

We have signed a lot of rough diamond types. Personally I would have kept Campbell and Horvath. Chong/Barclay are not working yet

Nothing worse than seeing Campbell in a millwall shirt

You almost answered your own question. If we are not behind then the team is doing ok. When we drop a goal then we need to push forward more. Simples.

On a hot, close and humid day, our team had to work even harder in pressing a skilful Fulham team. Rob will learn from this. If he has to put three players on after an hour then so be it. I suspect we'll be needing a lot of fresh legs this season due to the amount of running and closing down and the quality of opposition we are playing. Remain calm. That's how we got here.

I actually thought he got it spot on, limited Fulham to very, very little and carved out some excellent opportunities on the break. The subs did well when they came on too. Deserved a point at the bare minimum.

I'm pretty sure I've ready that 'these new signings are no better than last season's squad' about a dozen times on here early in a season.

And yet, miraculously, we have been promoted four times.

In a few weeks the posts will be 'what a signing, 2020 have done it again'

Seem to remember it being said about Allan Campbell a couple of years back, almost certainly by the same people.

Now he's seemingly the player that single-handedly got us promoted last season.

We don’t have the players to go on the attack and blow away the opposition. We didn’t do it last season and certainly won’t this season. We have to stay in the game as long as possible and then try and Nick it late. Hard work and organisation is the only way for us.
Do you really expect RE to come out and do a Scott Parker ?

For me breaking up last season's squad was a big mistake. They may have not been the greatest individual players but they all worked superb as a team.

We had at least four decent chances before they scored. With a bit of luck, we could have been two goals (or more) in front before they scored (a goal which wouldn't have happened if the referee had done his job).

For me breaking up last season's squad was a big mistake.

Of the eleven that started against Coventry, two were on loan and two are long term injuries. Of the other seven, four started on Saturday and three came on as subs. That is hardly breaking up last season's squad.

                                  Exactly

I know I've mentioned if before but the xG stats for the season are very different for us. According to that, we should be 17th in the League (ahead of Fulham, Sheff Utd and Burnley).

I know people dismiss them as meaningless but it shows the performances aren't as bad as some are making out. Teams don't tend to outperform or underperform their xG for long....

In November 2019 we were sitting about 8th in League One, but playing well. An xG analysis I saw then showed that we were much better than our League position. We all know how that season turned out.

Sorry but the likes of pelly and Campbell need to be starting.
Drameh could have signed along with horvath.
The likes of Barkley are everything we never was.
                                    Not my cup of tea.
As for the chances unlucky but at this level need to be more ruthless.

Who says that we could have signed Drameh. He was in their manager's plans so, even if we had wanted to sign him, he wasn't available so we went elsewhere.

Maybe Horvath's wage demands didn't fit in with our wage structure even if we did want to sign him.

You say that we need to be more ruthless. The fact that we made four chances disproves your assertion that we just sat back until they scored and didn't give it a go.

Maybe these teams aren't all they are made up to be..look at afc Wimbledon running chelsea close and fulham getting smashed 5.1 at man city.

Exactly, giving them way too much respect. Fulham were misplacing passes once we started putting pressure on them. They have to give it a go and not stand off all the time.

So, we should be playing 60 year old players because they once scored six. Joe Payne scored ten but it doesn't mean that he should still be playing. Perhaps we could sign Ted McDougall and play him up front as well.

No give him time but the messiah was always going to return one day.

The messiah managed one win in 8 league games at Southampton.

However the messiah was the only one to knock man city out of any cup.
