Would our team from last season…

Posted by Ninja on 17/9/2023, 8:36:39

Have picked up a point or two yet?

    I reckon it would.

Funnily enough, I think we’ve really missed Clark and Osho. Clark was opening stuff up for us and would have nicked a goal by now. Osho was arguably our best centre back and has the pace to step up to this level. Two quite big losses.

It's going to be a long, tough old season.

My advice - don't over think it and just enjoy it for what it is. I know that's not always easy when we're losing all the time but this, for me, is a bonus season. Never expected to be playing top flight football until we moved home but here we are

I am not so sure we would have

I think chong is a good replacement for Clark, and he has a lot of improvement in him.
You can argue Osho's case he was excellent last season.
I think the biggest difference in the Premier is the ability teams have to keep the ball under a strong press, and the way they switch play.

I think the team last year were great at the high press but that would be beaten by pretty much every team in the Premier.

I think the way we set up yesterday is the way forward with the players we have available.

I think when Osho is fit he might come in for Locks who I think has struggled with the pace, You can't fault his effort but he looks likes every challenge is going to be late, and has had to adapt by making less tackles.

We did a lot better yesterday than the last time we played there.

Missed Clark hugely imo, can create and works his nuts off intelligently when we don’t have it.

Energy and physicality and bit of quality will get you so far, need more quality for the premier league, million dollar question is getting the right quality

We missed Campbell or even Berry in midfield.

Really? I do think Pelly would make a difference, and he does step up at every level.

                      Campbell maybe, certainly pressing.

                      Berry no.
