Ponder this for an hour or two

Posted by James the legendary one on 10/6/2023, 8:01:35

“Before I was six years old, my grandparents and my mother had taught me that if all the green things that grow were taken from the earth, there could be no life. If all the four-legged creatures were taken from the earth, there could be no life. If all the winged creatures were taken from the earth, there could be no life. If all our relatives who crawl and swim and live within the earth were taken away, there could be no life. But if all the human beings were taken away, life on earth would flourish. That is how insignificant we are.”Russell Means, Oglala Lakota Nation (November 10, 1939 – October 22, 2012).

You eat meat, therefore you’re adding to the demise of the planet.

True. But also eating a plant based diet does too with all the rainforest still destroyed either for cattle grazing or for growing crops which aren't suitable for the land.

One of the biggest threats to the demise of the planet is actually population and that is a very complex issue.

              Nowhere near comparable.

The mentality of various heads of state towards climate change and the bury-my-head-in-the-sand outlook of billions is killing the planet. And meat production.

People are now imprisoned for protesting for everyone’s future. What a ####ed up world.

What’s the maximum size that a creature has to be before you claim someone is a meat eater?

If we reverted back into hunter gatherers then that would be a positive move.

But we wouldn't be here to tread in it! Plus the amount that is left by irresponsible owners suggests that it won't be too much of an issue than it currently is anyway.

Surely the cows udders would be "milked" by their calves? I'm not a biologist so don't know if they have umbilical cords though that need to be cut.

As for dogs, they'd just roam and be wild and walk themselves.

Cows would significantly reduce to their pre ordained levels of nature. Their calfs would not be taken away from them so that they carry on producing milk unnecessarily by humans.
Dogs would carry on as normal and clever to their pack instinct of their cousins the wolves.
We are destroying the Earth AI will soon realise this and wipe us out.

Will AI really be programmed with "do whatever it takes to save the planet"?

And, if so, wouldn't those at top - ie, the people that brought us here - be most at risk?

Half the World is happy, the other half suffers. Its always been thus. Can you justify the existence of the happy half at the expense of the poor half? AI might end it all and solve that problem!

Not sure that's true, but it's a good question...

Who would rather all our future matches end in draws?
