Popped into my mind for some reason.

Whatever happened to him. he was decent with us for a while at our level then just seemed to disappear.

Go off the rails or was he another Dean Morgan?

Wasn't there a lot of bitterness from his wife / sister towards LTFC?

Remember a game he played at Plymouth, we got 1 up early and he then basically ran the game out

What was that home game where we were hanging on for a draw 2-2 and he was basically running around on one leg because we’d run out of substitutes. York? Someone had been sent off (mcnulty)?

Anyway, he was still man of the match and got clapped off as he hobbled down the tunnel

Yes, York and it was McNulty who was sent off. Hyde had already been sent off for York. We had come back from 2-0 down to 2-2. Doyle went off injured after we had used all of our subs but, when McNulty was (wrongly) sent off, he came back on so that we weren't down to nine men.

                  Excellent!

Yes, relieved to get a point that night. Was that the last time Doyle played for us? He had looked a very useful player but I can’t remember if he ever came back from that injury.

He came back from that injury and played a few games the following season as well but was never as good as he had been before the injury.

He is one player that many forget in our rise back up the leagues but he actually won player of the season. Just a shame that his career was so badly affected by injuries.

After he left by mutual consent on Jan 2017, it was 16 months before he signed for non league Bridlington Town, he then left them in 2019 to sign for East Hull. He went onto manage them for a short period.
