Saudi and football

Strikes me they could be trying to follow the golf model , going after older legends first then progressing to world talent. The PIF Saudi fund is backing, Juve reassigning from European super league alliance with Madrid & Barca. Saudi league will want to grow beyond Saudi so global super league anyone … Money talks and if it’s enough like in golf that’s going to be difficult to stop

Juventus backing out is because they were to be banned for 5 years from uefa, nothing more.
The aims in the Saudi strategy are long term and based on the reducing prospects of oil. They can afford to take the long view in these things. At the top level sport has become media, entertainment and business. And human greed knows no bounds it seems. There's a huge World market just wanting to be entertained, it doesn't matter whether its football, golf ,or tiddlywinks etc. We who are genuinely into what was the sport of football have been gradually 'losing' the sport for years.
