    It would have been very nice for our first game back in the top flight to be at home, but I think given the concerns and the discussions that will have happened with the Premier League and EFL and those that generate the fixtures, I think it’s a near-certainly when they are released Thursday week that our first three games will be Away, Home, then Away with the known possibility that we will want to switch the second game as Liverpool did 7 years ago.

    I know it was only a 50/50 shot to begin with in theory but it does seem that (from memory and with no statistics to back this up) newcomers to the league play at home more often than not.

      Wasn't first game in 82 Apurs away. I think epopl3 would love a good awayday as the first game..

      On the flip side playing away without pressure and with our away form we could well be top by the time we play a home match.

      Home matches will bring intense focus and extra pressure and delaying a couple of weeks could favour us.
