Obviously the irony in my post whizzed right past you.
No one is arguing Rea is a premier league, or even a top half championship player. Which is why it's completely pointless making posts about it. You're not stating anything that anybody doesn't know. You're just having a pop at a player who's never let us down, and was instrumental in keeping us up. That was my point.
As for his contract...who knows. But I'd kind of trust the club's judgement over yours.
He was Nj’s bum chum that’s the only reason I can think of that he was our highest paid player

Being personal just diminishes your comment. Of course nobody knows what going to happen in the future, but name another player who has been given a four year contract? As other posters have alluded to, the sole reason was because of Jones’s favouritism.

Yep, it’s no exaggeration to say that without him we could be in league 1 now rather than the premier league. If we’d got relegated in the covid season who knows if we’d have got back in the championship by now
