Surprised their contracts are up. Be amazed if they didn't re-sign but certainly with Pelly, is bit odd he only signed a 2 year deal last time out.

If Pelly doesn't sign for us he won't actually make it to the Premier League as he won't get signed by another PL club.

Some bloke on the train on Monday said that Amarii had told him at the sponsors dinner he was staying, and especially now why wouldn’t he?

From re-reading his contract news in 2021, NJ made it sound like Pelly was hedging bets to see if anyone came in for him. Also not sure they had a great relationship (only speculating there).
Be amazed if RE hasn’t made it clear already round the slot machines that Pelly is one of the first names on the team sheet next season.
It seems he's on some kind of lifetime golden handcuff deal with us!

He was instrumental in us staying up in the first championship season and almost all fans were desperate for him to stay. Not sure I’d have given him 4 years but maybe it was that or lose him. We’ve outgrown him, but injuries obviously haven’t helped his cause

Yep, he was that Summer’s major stress re losing him. We seemed to have a major uptick once he came back that year and seemed to have other interest, so it’s understandable the board did what they could. Four years is surprising, in context, but I’d hope with the prem money we can tie players down for longer, it is a challenge each summer to retain chunks of the team on 2 year deals.
